I can't believe how I've been spending lately, but pretty soon I'll be moving out and will have actual grownup expenses, so I'm scrambling to get my fall wardrobe in order while I still have the income for it...

-Short menswear shorts, OTK socks, and a belt from UO (the shorts were insanely cheap with the coupon I had, plus free shipping). The belt is 2", stretchy, and adjustable so hopefully it will work out...

I sort of want to faint at all the money I have spent! But my shopping days are numbered now so I likely won't be getting anything else until spring Oh well, I am totally stoked about all my new goodies! I have never shopped in bulk like this before. Does anyone else do this? Is it a good strategy? Angie hasn't even put out her fall must haves list yet...oh dear...

I'm biased towards the fun of big hauls, but look at it this way: you're just front-loading for the season instead of buying the same things over the course of a few months!

Those are some gorgeous items you've picked out. Well, don't faint yet until you know which you'll definitely keep.

I'd never done this kind of bulk shopping until NAS this summer, and I just about fainted too at the sheer amount I got (and the total $$!). However, I then realized that I would still have bought the same # of items over maybe a 5-month period, and I just compressed the purchases into the span of a week's time. So the NAS bulk shopping was much, much more efficient. And I really do feel like I ticked off a lot of fall/winter needs (wants) very quickly, and that a lot of what I got goes together really well.

Ah Maya you haven't lost your marbles at all. Sounds like you have some good fall essentials going on there. I am so in love with the Miz Mooz Oxfords you have posted - have you tried them on at all to see what comfort is like? I'm about to cave in and jump on the oxford bandwagon myself - I am tempted to copy you!!!

And the belt in particular looks just like you are after - you have had a lot of trouble finding the right one!!

Looks good to me! I sometimes go through such bulk purchases, keep very little, and make sure to return things quickly so they don't sit on my credit card. Well, this year I've been late returning things - Nordies and Zappos are spoiling me so much with their generous return windows.

I'm kind of going crazy with shoes (booties) at the moment. I know I'll keep one or two pairs at most; really try to fill the holes in my shoe wardrobe. There's good variety now, so I'm going for it.

Those oxfords are adorable. Nice haul, I love all your picks! I can never shop in bulk like this, for me it's too stressful, but I think it's a great way to go - more efficient.

Maya you are lucky that you have a little bit of flexibility while you are living at home. Personally I tend to shop a lot twice a year and not so much in between. I think of the expense in terms of the year and not in terms of the month.

I am also waiting for that "must haves" list even though I am pretty done shopping this season...

Maya, I *love* the Matt and Nat. When it comes it would be great to see a photo of you wearing it, because I always have so much trouble really understanding how big their bags will look before I order them. I think it's so pretty--great choice!

(Oh, and I love the post title, just because one of my cats is named is Marbles. We're constantly saying "I've lost my Marbles!")

Maya, I think YLF makes us more focused, efficient shoppers. While having more fun! And as one whose "grown up bills" completely eats up the clothes shopping budget, you are smart to stock up while you can.

You're in good company (not to toot my own horn).
I just got a notification about 50% off on Tory Burch (one of my favorite brands--fits well and has things I love for work and play) and I went NUTS. Click, click, click and suddenly my total was in the 4 figures. Feel better yet?
As a perennial returner, I'm hoping that at least some items won't work. Of course that didn't stop me from buying a few oxford shoes to try and some cozy sweaters from AT. I hold YLF at least partially responsible for my yen to branch out into new fashion territory (thus requiring more purchasing than normal). Then again, I LOVE fall and I always love to do freshen up my closet around this time. My penance will be a Goodwill haul this weekend!

Can't wait to hear what you think about your loot!

Fun! I think the benefit of this kind of binge/splurge is that you can actually coordinate your purchases instead of randomly selecting as you go. I LOVE the ATL tunic but my size is gone!

Maya I hope you like the Steve Madden boots I bought them after your post and I really like them. I am now on the bandwagon for oxfords but I have a question. Can you wear the 2 tone that looks like ivory & black or ivory & tan in the winter? Can't wait to see pix of you goodies.
