Do you think the world would be a better or worse place if it were fashionable and socially acceptable for men to wear makeup?

I know this is coming out of left field. I've been thinking about it since I read an interview with Australian musician/comedian Tim Minchin, who performs with wild hair and heavy eye makeup. (Incidentally, funniest performer EVER. And very talented muscially, also. I just discovered him and couldn't stop watching youTube videos). He said in the interview that he does the makeup because he relies heavily on his facial expressions while performing, since his hands are generally occupied with playing the piano. Anyway, the point is, I sort of like the look, but IRL men never get to do that, and I'm wondering why not.
