Debbie, do you live in Northern Utah, or Eastern Oregon? I know in your profile you said you live in the Pacific Northwest, but you've said before that your climate is fairly dry and doesn't rain much. I'm originally from Boise. I was thinking about the fact that you want a lined trench to take to Ireland, and that you go there every year. It might be a good idea to just invest in something like that if you live in the areas I mentioned. When I lived in Boise, a warm, lined trench would have been something I would have gotten a lot of use out of. Plus, if you go back every year, you'll definitely be using it again, it won't just sit in your closet for the next 3 years gathering dust (like my black wool coat does down here in Texas).
