I got vaccinated on Saturday, with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. My neighbor called me to let me know there were lots of open appointments at a local community clinic, and were taking walk ins. I had just missed the last age group, by a matter of months, and didn’t qualify for the next group which was people with preexisting conditions. I was completely honest and open with everyone about having none, and they said that wasn’t a problem.

They had two vaccines, Moderna, which was completely booked, and J&J which had open appointments. Apparently people think it is not as good. Per the CDC:

“The vaccine had high efficacy at preventing hospitalization and death in people who did get sick. No one who got COVID-19 at least 4 weeks after receiving the J&J/Janssen vaccine had to be hospitalized.”

Well, that sounds pretty good to me. The whole point of a vaccine is preventing hospitalization and death. I hope if you are given the opportunity of getting vaccinated with J&J that you will take advantage of it.
