I had not posted about applying for a job. I was a bit nervous, as I have not interviewed in many years. My children's school had an opening for a reading specialist, and I applied. It is technically part-time, because I will not be working during school breaks (which is good because I need to have off when my children have off), but it will be full-time hours during the school year. I know there were at least three other applicants for the position, but I also knew they called me repeatedly as a sub, so they must have liked me.

I am getting paid peanuts, TBH, but no less than I was as an aid, and after a year there and helping to build the program (this is the first year for the job) I will be in a stronger position to negotiate salary. Still, I haven't had a paid job in many years, so the extra income will be fun/vacation money anyway.

Anyway, I interviewed with the hiring committee yesterday, and I met with the Superintendent today where I was offered the job. Yay!
