I got my report marks booties and I'm just not a fan IRL

Theres a large gap between my angle and the opening on the back and front and it makes my ankles, which are normal sized, look like twigs. Also the shape up close is kind of ... Clunky on me? Am I crazy? I know a lot of people here have these and love them. Am I imagining things or is it possible the voodoo of different people being different means a wonderful, versatile piece for most people looks wrong on me?

They did not work for me either. The ankles were laughably huge on me, and it looked like I was a kid playing dress-up in my mom's shoes. I think it has to do with where they hit your ankles - apparently it was at the very narrowest point of mine. Plus I tried the blue, which had a white lining that made things worse.

Be true to your body.

If you don't feel fab in them, please return them. Doesn't matter how it looks or works for others. If it doesn't work for you, you won't wear it.

Honestly...it's a particular look. I think it feels better in the skin tones (for most). I sometimes get annoyed with mine (when I want to wear skinnies, say...). But they are SOOOO comfortable, and I kind of like the look with skirts/ dresses and they work great with bootcuts and straight legs. So overall, a good purchase for me, but i do understand your objections, and you must send them back if they don't feel right!

Oh good! I was sort of afraid ... That I like had bad taste or no idea how to tell if something was working, for a second there. I think that feeling was bolstered by a desire or them to work :p

Diana, that's hilarious tho about looking like a kid playing dress up. That is exactly the observation I made to my boyfriend about them when I got them. XD

I completely understand why you feel this way about the booties. I own them and I love them, but it IS a very particular look (some here on YLF have likened it to wearing flower pots on your feet!) and you have to feel comfortable with the wide gap.

Maybe try the DV booties that Suz just tried? They fit closer at the ankle.

Personally I have come to like the look of a big gape on the ankles, but it's a personal thing. I don't have the reports, but a couple of similar styles.
