For those of you following my recent job interview process, just letting y'all know I GOT IT!!! I am over the moon with excitement. HR called me this morning to offer me the position. We went through the contract and itemized details and after our discussion, I very happily accepted the position.
This is a great move for me. It's a higher level than where I'm at now and selfishly, is better pay and a shorter commute. But more than that, it's in a hospital with a fabulous reputation for great staff morale and a wonderful work environment. My new-to-me boss believes in work-life balance and the position will be important and interesting, with all sorts of new challenges. My title is Executive Assistant to the President & CEO.
Literally about 15 minutes after accepting the position with HR, I got a wonderful email from the CEO I will be supporting telling me he's thrilled I accepted the position and that he's very much looking forward to us working as a team.
I also gave my three weeks notice this afternoon at my current position. It did NOT go over well and not once was I congratulated on my new position or thanked for the work I have done for the program for the past 15 years. It actually made me cry to realize how little value I hold in this department. But it also completely validated that I have made the right decision to move on.
Drinking a glass of red wine as I type this and toasting my new position. Thanks to all of you for your support - means the world to me
