MIL wanted to go thrifting this morning so off we went (and yes, it really was HER who wanted to go!). She found the most beautiful 100% wool camel coloured winter coat. Absolutely gorgeous!

And I found my slim black trousers - these kind of fit two types: cigarette and knit. They have the perfect amount of scrunch IMO, are very comfortable, machine washable and a wide waistband (they just pull on). The fabric is significant so they definitely feel like trousers as opposed to leggings. They are Calvin Klein and I got them for $8.99. The fit is spot on.

I also found this brand new silk blend mauve blouse (Pure by Alfred Sung) with a bit of bling on the shoulders and 3/4 length sleeves and elasticized bottom. I know this won't be to everyone's liking, but I like it. I might consider having Wonder Woman remove the elastic and just put in a straight hem though - what do you think? Leave as is or alter?

The first outfit are the slim trousers with the mauve blouse and my grey Cons as a nod to Angie's most recent formula on knit trousers with glam blouse and denim jacket. Does this work?

I've also tried the trousers with the VC houndstooth blouse buttoned to the top with my animal print Docs. What do you think?

The last outfit is a white/blue/black animal print blouse with the slim trousers and my Gap herringbone blazer and black/cream flats. What about this combo?

Would love your feedback and any suggestions on styling these two items. Thanks!

ETA: I'm now looking at the pics of the mauve Sung blouse and wondering if it's too oversized for me. I would take the elastic out of the waist and make it a straight blouse. What do you think?
