I’ve been looking for ankle boots with a lug sole. I want sturdy but not too “hiking boot.” Enter the SoftWalk Indiana. I have bunions but not truly wide feet; my idea of comfortable is, sadly, “doesn’t hurt too much.” I got these in grey suede. The grey goes with my grey coats, the black accents go with my black coats, and the white stitching by the sole looks sharp and pretty. I’ve worn them around the house for two days—so far, so good (no pain in my forefoot). I can’t endorse 100% as I haven’t walked hills in them. They come in wide, which is what I bought. And at $130, they are relatively affordable.
