Or did they find me? I have been trying to find a pair of full-length linen pants for several summers now. I even lamented about it on LJP's recent post because most of the time, they've always ended up looking pretty darn frumpy on me.

However, yesterday I was out shopping, just browsing the summer sales at Simons, when lo and behold, the sales associate hangs a lovely pair of slate blue linen pants, (IN MY SIZE!! no less) on the sales rack right in front of me. Well, I snapped them up and raced off to the change room, and I'm happy to report that they came home with me.

I like the cut and fit, really comfortable, too. 100% linen, a zip fly front with pockets, and an elasticated back. Yipee!! My search is finally over, and bonus, I got them at a great price too

These pants are beautiful - excellent fit and color. YLF! It's so nice when these things happen. I serendipitously found a type of dress that I was dreaming of while I was vacationing in the heat.
It's a typical beach dress, long, extralight, in a funny fuchsia/white print.
I will not wear it to go to work, but it has already come handy as staying-at-home dress and even night-gown!

This year I unexpectedly found a navy purse when I all but gave up the idea and was not looking specifically for it. It is perfect in size, style, color and price for me.

Thos are super! I love the drape. And the colour! (Well, I would!) And also the fact that the front is fly while the back has some elastic. What a score!

Great find! Mine was finding two HEWIs this year, long jean skirts and long tailored shorts. I was looking for specific colors on the skirts, don’t like front slits or distressing, etc.

Last summer I bought a pair of cargo pants from Simon's, linen-rayon blend, in black. They have become a summer workhorse, and are polished enough (for my style anyway) to wear to work. My daughter, who lives in the city with the Simon's (Halifax), loves hers so much that she got them in multiple colours.

I pondered adding the recommendation to Lisa's thread but too many maybes (wrong style, wrong fibre, wrong year). So I am thrilled to know you found these. Maybe another trip to Halifax is in my future?

I have fingers crossed that Simon's will take over one of the Hudson Bay locations here in Wpg - I love that store!

Irina- You’re right, we often find these items just when we’ve all but given up. Happy you found yours.
Cat2- Glad you found your HEWIs too, I’ve also been on the hunt for a longer denim skirt without the front slit in just the right wash and weight of denim but so far, no luck.
L’Abeille, LJP, Suz, Irina - I too, love shopping at Simons, I get a rush just going into their stores. Love the way they merchandise things, they seem to know what their customers really want, always a nice mix of their house brands and designers brands plus the quality is pretty decent for the price points. Hopefully, they’ll move into some of those empty stores across more of country.

These are great on you!! Love them.

I have had that happen a couple of times, mostly with footwear.

1) When looking for shoes for my 40th to match my cobalt dress I found a pair on the final sale rack for a bargain at my size.
2) Found a pair of replacement wedge sandals in the final sale rack after losing mine.
3) A perfect pair of nude sandals and a perfect dress both at the thrift store that were just calling my name. Both now worn out. How I loved them.

Those are gorgeous! A really great trouser style, easy but not too voluminous. Many lin pants are too resort- swishy for me, or have too much gathers by the time I fit both waist & hip. So a bit of tailoring is very desirable.

Sometimes thrifting, I find exactly what I am looking for, like my Big Lebowski sweater, or tall brown boots--things like that.
