I finally found a plaid shirt!

Today was my friends birthday. To celebrate we went to brunch at a Thai restaurant, and then out shopping. We went to Talbots, which is a store I have never really been to. I was surprised to find a few items I liked, among them were this plaid shirt and coordinating turtleneck. They are in my light summer colors and I like them even though the sleeves are a little short. I tend to push up my sleeves so it shouldn't matter.

Pics 3 and 4 are the recently rejected plaid shirts. Pic 3 had grey when I thought it would have blue. The overall color was too dark. Pic 4 was in warm tones, and made me look too washed out.

I am not quite awake enough for all the details, but I love the blue plaid on you (prefer it in #1), the equipment tops both look good but I am having a hard time judging the colors, and your outfit in #10 looks terrific.

Thanks Shevia, I just edited this post thinking it was a bit long so I removed the outfits you are referring to. I will try to repost them again soon. Sorry about that. I agree its hard to judge the colors of the Equipment tops from the pics I posted. I will try to photograph them again in better light.

Oh - I am so happy for you that you finally found "your" plaid shirt! This blue is perfect for you! What a lovely color! Talbots, huh? I've also been looking for a blue plaid shirt - think I'm going to have to make a trip to Talbots myself!

The blue looks great on you, much better than the other colors! Talbots was a surprise store for me too, I found a beautiful top there while shopping with a friend.

Thanks greycat6! This has been a fun project but work just the same! Yesterday at my friends birthday brunch one of the big rewards came when I saw someone I haven't seen in several months and she told me I looked much younger, and she loved my hair color and thought I looked so bright. She told me she had never realized my eyes were so green, but she couldn't figure out why! (We eventually told her about the color change)

Karie, I was surprised about Talbots. I had never ventured there because I always thought of it as the place where all my petite friends shopped. I had to hunt, but I always do, so it's no different than anywhere else. They had some great classic items, and a few edgy pieces as well. The store here is a huge stand alone building and it is always busy.

I find Talbot's hit and miss, too but because they carry some really good fabrics and colors I always go through a few times a year and see what's on line in trousers and sweaters, too. For me the main problem is that lots of items are cut very boxy in tops and jackets, jackets are short-ish, and they don't stock much of their curvy pants in-store. And shipping is not free, usually, though I can return in-store. Since you wear a slim fit you may get lucky cruising their slimmest/straightest pant style and the right sizing. Just have to be picky and wait for the next good thing--they'll feature some different woolen fabrics in different years so I try to be patient.

The blue plaid shirt looks wonderful with your complexion, eyes, and hair! You must be having a lot of fun finding your new wardrobe. I have bought a handful of Talbot's items over the years and find they are well made and durable.
