Oh, Linda Rodin--I could be inspired by her. Lots of fun textures, colors, and she always looks cozy and comfortable in her clothes, as if they are all old favorites. Thanks, Angie. Her style speaks to me more than Tilda Swinton's, which seems more high concept to me. And I do go for some of that sometimes, though not usually for very long.
Gaylene, I've been inspired at times to want to throw out everything and try to achieve a style that is completely "X." Once this happened with the Textile Studio pattern line (about 10 or so years ago). I wanted to buy all the patterns and make a wardrobe completely from that line. More recently, maybe a couple of seasons ago, I envisioned myself wearing everything Madewell (for some reason)! Not that I act on these impulses, exactly, but apparently something about a collection sometimes speaks to me in a strong way. But a consistently inspiring style muse is another matter. With Linda Rodin, I can see how I could look to her for a lot of cool ideas--not the "I want to look just like her" impulse, but something more restrained and grown-up.
