I haven't been around much this summer - a bunch of things, but a big part of it was that summer fashion bores me. I think I looked fine this summer thanks to YLF, but I pretty much had a "uniform" - Sweet Pea tops with jeans, walk shorts or solid skirts - and stuck to it. Now that it's getting cooler, I've got the urge to play with clothes again.

I'm intrigued by the oxfords posts and am following them closely. I feel like I'd like to try this, but I don't know about flat oxfords - I'm not much of a flats person in general, and I like a slightly more feminine vibe.

i've been looking at Fluevogs (I've wanted a pair for YEARS and have never had one...it would be a big purchase for me, but maybe for Christmas..) Anyway, what do you think of these? I love all the shoes in non-neutral colors, but I'm never sure of how to wear them. I'm afraid of looking too matchy.

ETA: Now that I've seen the shoes, I really love #2, and also like #3. I am not very good yet at envisioning outfits, so I'll leave it to others to make suggestions.

Hey, you stole my mantra! I have a pair of Fluevogs (these in a cognac, because they didn't have the red at the store http://www.fluevog.com/code/?w.....ourID=1784) and adore them. They look far more amazing on than in a photo, and I get comments on them incessantly. They're also very comfy for heels. And you can rarely find them on e-bay or elsewhere, so they are almost like a collector item.

I like Fluevogs a lot; my favorite out of this bunch is the Hope in blue. I like the color combo, the heel, the shape, and they seem like they would be versatile. I would think you could wear them with bootcuts, skinny pants/jeans, and the right sort of dresses/skirts.

Those Malibrans, in gray or red, are on my list too, alaskagirl. And the Operetta Giulia boots, and the Pearl Harts and...OK, need to stop now.

The thing about getting, say, blue shoes is that I don't know if I should wear them with blue clothes - wouldn't that be too matchy? But then I don't know what other colors to wear them with, except plain old black or gray.

I don't think they would look matchy-matchy with denim. I think you would approach matchy-matchy territory if you tried to wear them with, say, a brown skirt and a perfectly matched blue top :). Do you tend to wear a lot of browns and earth tones, or more blacks and grays, or a mix? I could see these shoes working best in a wardrobe with plenty of browns and earthy tones (e.g., I would wear those shoes with olive green, gold, deep reds, all shades of blue, cognac or caramel colors, etc. along with black) rather than one that was more black and gray dominant, if that makes sense.

Love those Hope Promise. I do have to say though that I tried on blue shoes with dark denim this week and decided against them. What about those in red?

I Love the Hope Promises. I think there is enough pattern and texture on them that would look good with jeans.

How fast do you get bored with footwear? If it's quickly then the Dohje are not a good choice. The Promise and Erika are both more classic in style, then it comes down to which colors work better for your wardrobe.

I LOVE Audi's blog. That's how I would want to dress if I were just a little bit braver, but I aspire to an Audi-lite kind of style.

I'm actually thinking of skipping the oxfords and going for the Malibrans in red - I found them for a substantial chunk off the original price on endless.com.

Is the "Baccarat Rosso" TOO red, do you think? Would I be better off with the burgundy? I wear a lot of black, gray, red, and burgundy.

I promise you it is THE most gorgeous red on earth. I have seen it in the boots, and it makes my mouth water. They look very vintage and modern and classic and funky all at the same time.
