I did some damage today - went shopping

I had good intentions of buying rest of xmas presents, but I did end up stopping at all my favorite stores because they had some great sales and ended up buying lots of stuff. I took some photos so please tell me what you think. Keep or return??

#1 - I've been looking for a corduroy skirt for a long time and I finally found one that fit and was knee length from Anthropologie.

#2 - Anthropologie bolero - thinking about wearing it on New Years except not sure how. Any ideas?

#3 and #4 - Ann Taylor velvet skinnies - fits like a glove and may wear for NYE.

#5 Ann Taylor skirt - fell in love with this skirt.

#6 - Banana Republic - burnt sienna / rust cardigan

#7 - Banana republic layering top

#8 - Banana republic top - may return. It didn't do anything for me.

I really like the cord skirt, the velvet skinnies and teh grey tie detail skirt. The last 3 pieces are fine but don't wow me. I'd pass on the bolero, but that might be my personal style filter getting in the way

Great buys! The Ann Taylor skirt is FAB. I'm not sure about the bolero either seems a little light summer-y for a NYE party, no?
Agree with you on the last BN top, it may work with a jacket or cardigan but I'm not really loving the pattern/texture of it.

Ooooh. LOVE those Ann Taylor skinnies on you and I am feeling severe jealousy at the moment. (We don't have AT in Canada and they do not mail here, but I happen to know that their clothes fit me very well. Sigh...) DOUBLE sigh, because that skirt is fantastic!!!

Okay, back to you and your finds. The cord skirt is terrific; a great colour to take you into spring and back into early mid-fall, I'll bet. I like the BR layering top and the sweater, too.

Agree with you on the last top; it's a pass.

As for the bolero, it is very cool....but I'm having trouble thinking how to style it, too. I am not sure it would look good with black, and since YOU look so good in black, that's a bit of a minus. Do you have something red you could layer under? Or try it with black and show us? You have such a full closet I bet you will find something that will work with it.

The skirt in #5 is my favorite of the lot! A must keep! I also love 4, 6 & 7, keep those. The others don't excite me as much or seem quite as fab on you. The cord skirt fits you well but I'm not sure about the color. Is it cream, beige or yellow? It seems a little washed out compared to your skin tone.

I like mostly everything you've got but the last two are more 'meh' than wow and the bolero is more summery, though it's ok.

I really like the bolero and the entire look in #6. The cord skirt is just ok and top in 8 is not so much, but sounds like you know it. The velvet skinnies are perfect on you. A nice haul. I'm itching to buy for me with all the sales, but have to spend most of the day baking and wrapping. Maybe Santa will be good to me.

I remember seeing the bolero in the Anthropologie catalog and worn over a knit dress, like an accessory. That's what I was planning to wear it. I just love the details and it's so arty. Can you believe I bought stuff for the sake of the details and because it's just so pretty?

As far as the cream cord skirt, I was planning to wear a teal/turqoise top with it and a scarf that I got recently. I try not wear cream on top because it does wash me out, but if I wear it as a bottom, then I can wear a high contrast top. I'll try to post an outfits some this week, probably after christmas.

I actually like the last top. I could see it layered with a colorful cami underneath, and topped with a blazer. Edgy.

Sorry, my least favorite is #7 although it might be a good layering top for work.

Love all of the others, including the bolero. I could see it as you are wearing it, with the purple or other colorful cami underneath, and high-waisted trousers (or bells or wide-legs). Might also work with a high-waisted skirt, pencil or otherwise.

Or, you could wear it with a soft colored sheath or slip type dress underneath.

My very favs are the bolero (it suits you), the AT skinnies (wow) and the AT skirt (professional, yet sassy). I've been steering clear of the malls, but am happy to see you are finding great pieces and great sales.

Good for you, and what fun! I love the skirts, the skinnies and the bolero is like a piece of jewelry. I like your idea of wearing it over a knit dress. I like the printed layering top, too! You were made to wear knee length skirts; they look incredible on you!
