I did it again- broke my shopping ban, that is.
I don't feel too bad, though. Threadless is having one of their $5 sales, and I ordered a few.

This will probably sound weird, but a graphic tee is really something out of my comfort zone. I know that it's something that Angie recommends for MOTG, and they look great when I see them in pictures here, but I don't think that I've worn one since high school. Being larger and large chested, I didn't think it was something that would be flattering for me. With 45 pounds gone, I am willing to give it a try. I've been looking locally and online, but haven't found any that strike my fancy that are not super expensive. Plus with a large chest, I want more of an all over design than one that will focus more attention on my boobs. For $5 each, I figured that even if I just end up wearing them to bed and the gym I am not over-paying.

Khris -- very cool patterns! My one question would be whether you feel comfortable in crew necks? You're certainly younger than I, but I have found them less and less flattering as I have gotten older.

I don't like a crew neck by itself, but layered (as I plan to wear these) I think I can get away with it. If not- it's easy to "alter" tee shirts, and I have seen this done to Threadless tees with great results.

I so envy anyone who can solve problems with a needle and thread! I wish. The closest I will ever come to this is when we used to cut into our tees in the Flashdance era...

Khris, if you decide to alter a shirt, maybe you'll post before and after photos to inspire the rest of us?

Khris, those are super cool! Sorry I didn't acknowledge your mention of this sale on an earlier thread. I bought a bunch of tees at their earlier $5 sale so I'm stocked up on tees.

I have a few ideas on how to alter the tees but I'd love if you can share what your ideas are!

Cutting is what I am talking about, girls! No needle and thread required. (and no off the shoulder flash dance look, either!) Tees are great becaue the edged will stay in tact and you don't need to finish them. You find raw edges and exposed seams on lots of garments now a days, so it's perfectly acceptable. I was thinking that if the crew neck is too tight, I will cut just right around it and sort of go from there. I think that if you also cut off the hems on the sleeve and bottom edge, it makes it look intentional and complete. If I end up doing this, I will post pics.

Now I have Britney Spears in my head! Khris, I totally know what you mean about the comfort zone when it comes to graphic tees. I feel like I just got rid of the tee-shirt collection from my twenties not too long ago in an effort to trade up to more grown-up, 30-something looks. And now graphic tees are hot!! I have purchased a couple but I have gone for very streamlined, v-necks. I really don't wear them too often though...
