I haven't had a decent closet purge in years . . . I was holding onto a lot of things, partially because of unsteady employment woes tricking me into feeling unable to replace items. With full-time longer term employment, I decided that 2014 would be the year to complete the project I've been putting off since joining YLF.

So . . . . I did it! I'm so glad that I did. There are 3 black garbage sacks full of donations on the guestroom bed. There is probably some room to let go of a few more pieces, but mostly fall/winter items.

During the process, I noticed:

I've shifted away from romantic, vintage-y, and boho and cutesy. Most of the newer additions to my wardrobe are very classic.

I had some perfectly good things, but shapes have changed and they look old because of it.

My color pallette is a lot narrower, although I did find a color I haven't been wearing that I still love on me.

Fit is everything with me-- If something is off with the fit, I won't wear things even in my styles and colors.

I've moved away from lower necklines because finding appropriate ones are hard, but I'm more willing to show my legs and arms than in the past.

I have a lot of pieces that are a pair of shoes short of getting worn often.
