I caved to the Trouve leather jacket. Also, squeaky leather?

I'm sorry Mo! I made it 5 whole weeks, but as soon as that jacket went on sale, my trigger finger took on a life of it's own. :O

So, here's the Trouve jacket that Sarah TX wears so sassily (BTW, if that's not a word, I invented it just for her.

I think I'll be hard pressed to find another cropped jacket that comes this close to fitting my short waist. But...I do have a concern about the leather. It's not quite as soft as my Guess jacket and it squeaks. Which makes me nuts and may be a deal breaker.

Any thoughts on the jacket in general (I haven't styled it in these pics) and fixing the squeaking issue?

Don't know about the squeaking, maybe leather conditioner. It looks amazing on you though!

O. M. G. Beth that jacket looks fab on you! You couldn't ask for a better cut or a more perfect fit. I wonder if there's any trick to get it to stop squeaking? Monty (my python bag) squeaked a lot when I first brought him home, but I thought, well, a good saddle and tack squeeks a bit too, right? Come to think of it, either I stopped noticing it, or the leather softened up. Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaase don't send it back! It's perfect for you. Give it a chance.

And I thing sassily IS a word. Or it should be.

Wow, that's the best purchase evah. It looks amazing on you. I hope you can figure out the squeaking thing--perhaps it just needs breaking in.

AMAZING on you Beth! The fit is absolutely perfect. I suspect the squeaking is just because it's new and a bit stiff, and will work itself out. You could always call a local leather store and ask if they have any advice.

I wondered why I didn't see you on the SYC thread . . . It's beautiful, and hey, I'm the one who went and got Frye boots a few weeks back remember?!? All is forgiven, especially if it's a statement piece that is going to be around for many seasons to come, not some impulse trend that caught our eye, right? Right!
No idea on the squeaking - but it would bug me enough to return if it weren't fixable.

SUPER cute. Can you tell where the squeaking is coming from? If something lubricating doesn't help I would be tempted to try something powdery, like a dry shampoo made for brunettes (so it doesn't show up white).

Adelfa, the whole darn jacket squeaks. Like Mo said, it's enough that I probably won't keep it if I can't figure out how to soften things up.
