Ha! I'm flattered! And Peri, you are right - it looks exactly like something I might buy and wear.
Hey, did you get a second one for me while you were at it?
Actually, to be completely honest, on first glance I thought it was a bit sporty and conservative for me.
But I tend to have that reaction to the kinds of tops that are genuinely figure flattering and practical for the life I actually lead. I guess I secretly wish I were the kind of woman who could wear .... oh....I don't know. Just something different, somehow, from what I usually wear, you know? Like a super low draped V or something.
But then, looking more closely, I see that, in fact, this top has some lovely style details like the hi-low hem and the pocket trim, and worn the right way, it would be simple and sophisticated as well as a touch sporty.
In short, I can't wait to see it on you!! And I might just have to check out AT on my next Toronto visit after all. I happen to have a credit there!!
As far as how long it might take you to find your style...
I arrived here completely without a clue, in May 2011.
I still don't think I have completely nailed my style. But getting close.
You are right -- even once you feel as if you have a good sense of what you like, it can take a while to build a wardrobe built of those items. Finding them and paying for them.....
I didn't do this very systematically, but now I wonder if it would have made more sense to focus on one capsule at a time. I.e. focus on your piano teaching capsule, and THEN "date night" capsule, or whatever the other capsules are in your life where you might choose slightly different clothing than for your work.
