I went to an Ecco and Clarks shop this evening to try the Ecco booties one more time with the thick wool socks I normally wear in winter. They were too narrow, but I thought I could try some other styles. And I went home with a pair of boots!
I wouldn't have looked twice at them in between the range, but the SA told me I should try them after she saw me struggling with one shoe after the other (they were all too narrow). I wasn't enarmoured, especially because the size on the shelf was black leather (like in pic #5) and I didn't want another pair of black boots. But then she brought my size and these were actually dark grey!
They are very comfortable and wide enough for my feet without being too long, it's a perfect fit! They are also waterproof (Gore-Tex) and the soles look like they have some grip. I think I could wear these even in snow and ice and they were comfortable both with normal and wool socks. They also work over both tights and skinnies!
The only reason why I wasn't jumping for joy was that these are a lot more 'sporty' than what I would normally buy. They aren't exactly super fashionable IMO, but they are practical. Are they too sporty? And do you think they would work with all my skirts, especially this black one and the two new plaids?
I could also keep these for more sporty/casual looks and really bad weather/a lot of walking, but they were expensive. I could only afford another pair of dressier winter shoes if my coat doesn't end up being super expensive.
Oh, the pictures are all unstyled and overexposed so that you can see the details better.
(Btw, the white bag arrived and will go back. It's much bigger than I thought, a blinding true white and the drop of the handle doesn't work for me. So that's more money to spend on other things. And the last LE order with the other coats arrived too, my neighbour has it. Now he only has to come home!)
