DH& I have an agreement: when he buys a new piece of expensive hunting gear, I get shoes. Yesterday, he went to a gun show to look at some optics devices. I started shoe shopping on my phone as soon as he was out the door, because if DH is buying them then it doesn't break the no buy (that's my story and I'm sticking to it LOL)

Well, my neighbor Claudia called & invited me to ride to town with her to help her look for a shoe organizer/shelf, so off to McKinney TX we went. Of course, we had to stop at some yard sales on the way, and I wound up with: a heaping pile of Tupperware cake carriers (3 of them for $5!), 3 rolls of purple wrapping paper, a weird little baking dish & mug set (pic 1-3), some old weaponry related prints for DH for Christmas, a print that reminded me of mom's dad (pic 4, because he had a donkey), and a brooch & necklace. I completely gave myself a pass on the jewelry, because really? I'm gonna give myself grief over 2 tiny items at fifty cents apiece? Not.

Then we headed to McKinney, and mayhem ensued. DH & I are hosting a Dirty Santa/White Elephant party in a couple of weeks and Bed Bath Beyond had some awesome stocking stuffers that were perfect so I grabbed a couple, plus some extras in case anyone shows up without a gift. We also went to Yankee Candle, because she had coupons buy 1 get 1 free, each coupon was good for up to 3 free candles and Yankee Candle had the flavor my mom likes best so I bought her some candles. So far, so good.

Then we hit the Allen Premium Outlets and the next thing I know: 2 sweaters, one pair of leggings, and a faux sherpa jacket in my sizes have found their way into Claudia's trunk. I'm not quite sure how that happened so I'm blaming the ghost of Christmases past LOL. one of the sweaters, the jacket, & the leggings are pics 5-7. I couldn't find the other sweater on the loft outlet website but it was a pink crewneck tunic similar to the blue turtleneck I got at ann Taylor factory.

We went to Tuesday Morning on the way home and I added one last spare gift for the dirty Santa party and some gourmet coffee because we go through coffee around here like most people go through water or sodapop.

I'm resetting the countdown to the tattoo but I'm not upset with myself at all. It's cold much earlier than usual here, and I'm tired of not having sweaters to wear while I wait on the interminable line-drying process during winter rain. It makes no sense to freeze my butt off just because I'm too stubborn to buy some clothes because I want a tattoo. I probably wouldn't have had to buy sweaters if I didn't have such a bias against wearing my black clothes in a non-work setting, but I just can't bring myself to wear a uniform when I'm not at work.

As for DH and our arrangement... yes, he spent a boatload of money on the optic device he was coveting. So I ordered a new pair of black leather Naturalizer boots (pic 8) in a wide width because there is no such thing as too many pairs of boots LOL

Again, I'm not too upset with myself over buying clothes yesterday. You guys reminded me that the no-buy was some arbitrary thing I imposed on myself. I just wanted to update you on my no-buy failure because it's almost hilarious to me
