I am wearing ... apple-green flats! (seriously!)

After Shiny's lecture on the importance of wearing flats and also trying to "push the envelope" I bought a pair of apple-green flats. They have low vamp and a pointy toe - both features, I hope, help in elongating the overall silhouette. I am wearing a Boden jersey dress in navy (the one that feels like pajamas), lacy purple cami underneath the dress, and my new flats: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh.....directlink

P.S. This is still not the type of a shoe I am looking for for the kids-related activities - while it is comfy and flat, it is not good enough for climbing the jungle gym. The outfit above is what I wore for work.
P.P.S. I am wearing navy blue, purple, and apple-green in one outfit - a combination I would never consider before YLF. Thank you Angie and all the lovely ladies here for helping me to be bolder with the color!

Kari - oh, thanks for the review! I should read that blog more frequently. The sandals are very cute, and if they are indeed suitable for my duck feet it will be great. I just hope they are cheaper here than in the US ...

Wow, that dress looks so long on the website but it seems to hit you at a perfect spot. I still don't know if it would work that well on someone like me (in terms of length without hemming) who is petite & shirt waisted. See this is why I hesitate to buy from Boden - I have no idea what the fit would be in real life. That's what is so great about this forum! I'd really like the get a few dresses like this for summer - simple, pretty and easy to wear.

I really want a pair of colored shoes this season, but it's hard to find cute styles in fun colors in NARROW widths at affordable prices. I almost got some green sandals, but they were sold out in my size, and prolly won't be available anymore this season. Boo!

Anyhoo, ya' look great! And yes, by all means, if that dress is working for you pick another pretty color and enjoy! It has been hard this season, finding cute, comfy, washable, flattering, jersey dresses in an array of colors. Well done!

San, Lesley - thanks for the compliments! Lesley, it is true that a comfy washable flattering jersey dress is very hard to find. Hmmm ... I might be tempted to pick another color now, before they run out.

Shana - yes, it is a bit puzzling about the length. I was actually fully prepared to hem it if it is too long, but it isn't - it is exactly the right length. What I found out about Boden is that if the item is described as "knee-length", then it will be the perfect knee-length on me; but if it "hits a little below the knee" according to their description, then on me it will be that awful mid-calf length and I will have to hem it. I am 5'3'', so technically I am borderline petite. What is your height? The dress is definitely "hemmable", so you might want to try it.

First of all the apple green flats sound simply divine I think I need a pair. Good for you for taking a chance with color. I'm sure you looked fantastic. My philosphy is color, color and more color. I am always trying new mixes or adding just a "pop" of color via shoes, jewelry or my handbag! Matchy Matchy really is passe. So good for you for getting out of your comfort zone.
