I am truly the luckiest person alive, IMO. My DH is the best DH I could ever have wished for, and he is a great father to boot. And my mum taught me to be the best mum to my own children. My own children take after members of DH's and my own family equally, and I couldn't ask for more.
The point of this post, however, is to tell how lucky I am to have the family members I have. I told in the OT threads about my aunt and uncle who sent the information about the ancestry of our families;. on a more materialistic note, both my DH and my mum blessed me with jewelry this year.
My DH gifted me with 1 ctw earrings, each with a center of .4. They glitter like CZ IRL, but the photo captured the colour in them (the center stones are an I). My mum gifted me with an incredible tennis bracelet. It is just barely over 3 ctw, 7.5" long and set in 18K gold. Somehow it looks larger to me.
This sets my new year off right. I have LOTS of clothing, and I intend to wear it (or try it) all this year (and post photos!). After that, I will truly have an idea of what I need. In the meantime, I think my money is better spent either on investment pieces or on precious metals/gems.
