Oh, you guys are awesome! Thanks for all the comments and ideas!
Preppy, this is my “Florida cozy” sweater. I was missing big, cozy, snuggly fisher sweaters, but thought this loose knit (crochet?) one made a similar effect. Temps in the 50s are a Florida cold snap, but spring weather in Berlin.
Toronto, lol about the legs. I used to share clothes with my sister, who is two inches shorter than me but has the same inseam, so I don’t think of my legs as long.
Thanks Carla! You are on the nose—CTPS is what I was thinking of with those other ideas. I might just save that outfit for a day when I can carry a brighter color bag, or maybe one with a camera strap.
Slimcat, ready for the world? Guess I’m taking it til I make it—15 job apps this week, and I’m not done yet.
BD, I wanted to try again today with a different top under the sweater—don’t know why I was so afraid of color on this attempt—but then it was too chilly. I’m keeping your idea in mind for another day.
Cee, all 3? I think #1 has a screw loose, lol.
Minaminu, like in the last pic?
Thanks RL! If high neckline, then an interesting one with color. Makes sense.
Thanks Angie! I’m still trying to figure out/am fascinated by tonal matching. Nice that you picked that up!
Karen13, high 5 on the necklaces and scarves. They don’t physically bother me, just are “extra” that I don’t like. You too? Earrings are the same way for me.
Thanks La Ped. Paisley might be “my stripes”. That’s what I’m trying today—but then it was too chilly for this sweater
Suntiger, I was pretty much stuck with this bag because of all the papers I’m schlepping; maybe I should hold off on the simple color scheme until I can do more interesting bag.
Thanks Sal. The sweater outfit makes me feel like I should be at a beach bonfire, lol. #3 is a collection of things I like but rarely wear.
JenniNZ, good point about structure. I do have scoop necks to try with this. If I stick with the tone-on-tone, maybe I’ll try it with jeans. I have lost a bit of weight, am trying to build up my quads so I don’t just get straight skinny legs, blah.
Eva, a “tryhard” is a striver, someone who does all the right things earnestly and takes the fun out of something. The term comes from video games. Good thought about the metallic ankle boots. I might just let JenniNZ carry them off. I wanted them so much before I got them, enjoyed them when we first got here, but this winter they seemed to flashy and showy—I’ve hardly worn them.
Joy, I’d love to wear the red combat boots with the flares, but doubt the pants are long enough for a 2” heel. The oxfords I have on there are entirely flat.
Gretchen, I’ll have to dig around in my jewelry to see if I have anything unobtrusive enough that I’m comfortable in it with an “I just woke up this way” outfit but still a little sparkley
Thanks Anne! You are quite right about easier said than done. I haven’t looked at my hair accessories in ages. Wonder if I have anything there that would pick up the colors.
