When I saw the blog post I immediately started searching for an alternative. DIdnt find anything close. So now I'm wondering if I could DIY? Good luck searching.

Angie found it at Nordstroms, but it is currently sold out. It is also available at Topshop, but my size is sold out. Perhaps your size might not be sold out.
You could also have a store check inventory at other stores; it is a different database. Assuming it is multiple stores in your size, they will print out a list. Have them start calling from the bottom. At least with me, it has been the last store that actually found the item in stock. The store that has your size will send it to you.
