I am going to accidentally make my 12 in 12 challenge!

more history here http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-challenge but briefly I decided to go for only twelve garments in twelve months. (not including hose, underwear or one special occasion outfit for my brother's wedding)

A few months ago I decided to abandon the effort because I needed a lot of replacement items.However there's only a week left to the end of the financial year and I have only bought 11 items anyway!

Congratulations! I'm curious what happened though - did you not need the replacement items or not find anything else worth buying? How did you end up meeting the 12 in 12?

no congratulations are warranted thistle and Claire! I attribute it to lack of time to shop, perfectionism, my failed attempts at only buying ethically, etc.
whether my wardrobe is up to the full time corporate job I start in three weeks is an open question. my casual. lounge wear and gear capsules could do with a refresh too!

Sara I still need the replacements! just haven't got around to buying guide them.

in addition to the seven items in the previous email quoted above, I bought an op shop sundress a mistake l fear, a white button down, a white mock turtleneck, a black cardigan and red coat.

Good for you, no matter how it came about. I am on track for double that, and a month ahead of my buying schedule at that! But I think just making the conscious effort is a big part of successfully mindfully shopping.

if anyone wants to copy me, factor in moving house, starting work, living in a regional town, frying your computer so online shopping is really difficult and a big dose of procrastination! *smile* The only thing I did that I would recommend is skip a couple of my big shopping days.

really my achieving this challenge is much more about me finding shopping hard anyway and I made it harder by all my criteria than some leisurely selective process where I picked 12 wonderful items. I am happy with most of what I got though, just would have liked more

not yet Deborah. I start my new full time job in three weeks and dh and girls will come about a week later. lots of packing, goodbyes and last things still to come.

No, Nanabear , I am not really content with my wardrobe. iI get by all right because it is winter here and a lot of the time a coat will sufficecurrent because we don't take it off much. I have enough for my current part time job. but there are holes, as mentioned above. in particular my jogging which are so worn out they are ripped in the thigh and a lot of my knitwear.
