Per the advice of many YLFers (thanks!), I tried this dress with a couple of different cardigans, jackets, and belts (see previous thread, "Hemline Hassle"). I like the idea of a skinny belt, but I only have a dark brown one & it didn't look right. This wide belt pulled the look together, taking the dress from "It looks like a nice, comfortable dress" to "What a pretty outfit!" (quotes from my husband!). I had the cardigan on during the cooler part of the day, and was happy to have two options - with or without another layer - that looked nice for clinic.

I feel like the belt helped solve some of the look & feel of excess fabric on the side of the skirt, and it clearly defines my waist. It also shortened the skirt length a teensy bit, which in the end I liked much better. Last but not least, the leather of the belt bookends the leather of the sandals, creating a more pulled-together look. Overall, I think that belting this dress makes it feel more "me" than wearing it loose, as is.

I posted no-belt and belt photos, for comparison.
