Hunter boots

I’ve decided rain boots are a wardrobe hole and i’d like to try Hunter. Glossy or matte? Sizing? Aquatalia and La Canadienne fit me well. Any other tips or suggestions appreciated!

A friend at work has glossy hunters and they are gorgeous, so cute and so practical. I used to wear wellies a lot and I think that they are TTS. But I always wore socks and the cold comes up through the soles though.

I bought some Hunter boots in the spring , and took my regular size. I went with the glossy - although matte is classic, it sometimes looks dirty or old to me. Just a personal thing.

I like the glossy Hunters best. What colour will you go for? Black is classic, but I have seen forest green and navy Hunters that look really nice especially if they coordinate with a coat or rain jacket.

Jane, lisap, Bijou...I am definitely leaning towards the black glossy ones. Some reviews say the glossy ones scratch easily, though,

smittie...that’s wild. Really? I don’t think there’s a Costco very near me but maybe it’s worth seeking one out!

Yes, they can scratch , so it's weighing one problem against another. I've had mine for one season and wore them quite a lot, and so far they only have one minor scratch.

I don’t have any but am rooting for you to find a good pair. It seldom rains enough here to need them. So far waterproof booties and sneakers have been enough. On casual dog walks if it is wet and warm, I will wear my Crocs or beach shoes with bare feet.

Thanks Joy. I just placed an order for two sizes of the glossy black Original fit Hunter boots from Nordstrom. They are on sale (price-matching) and it’s a 10x point day.

I like the glossy because a lot of my outwear is dark colored or flat black and I think the glossy will be a more interesting juxtaposition.

I had some glossy grey Hunters... so obviously I went with glossy. I have to say tho, they’re rubber boots. They’ll never be office wear. After awhile, I sorta wished I’d gotten the matte because I was wearing them to walk the dog in the rain and go to the farmers market. Then the buckle broke. And they were never comfortable for those long walks. So then I started wishing for real Hunter farmer boots, which are meant for all-day wear and are padded... and then I learned they won’t send to the U.S.

I had one pair of rubber rain boots that were actually office worthy - Siger Morrison (sp?)...

I have 2 pairs of tall Hunter boots. I bought my regular size and I wear socks with them. My red pair is glossy. My black and brown pair is matte. I have been happy with both!
