And several other fabs, really! But I'll get to that.
Okay, I'm swimming up out of my NAS obsession and realizing it is still about 98 degrees outside! For a few hilarious seconds after E posted asking how to style a white summer skirt I actually wondered why she was asking that now!!! Um, yeah, cause it's still...summer?
So here's the hugging, which many others have done and I wondered if I ever would...I have realized it is August and I am not sick to death of my summer clothes. That is crazy amazing. I have always said I just try to survive summer and style goes out the window, but I have actually liked my wardrobe this summer. I have tops I added last summer that I'm still liking, the great pants search yielded a few pairs of heat friendly decent looking bottoms, and I added a few new tops. And wow, I even have a few I haven't worn yet. I no longer hate my hot weather style!
Last weekend I was away for a special occasion and packing was a breeze. And what I realized was that every item I took with me I found on YLF, either from member's recs or Angie's or even just introducing me to names like Ted Baker and AllSaints, which I had never heard of. Such a serious and thorough impact YLF has had on my life. Fashion seems small, but we get dressed every day, and it sure is nicer when that is less of a struggle.
So the copying Suz and many other fabs part...last summer with the help of the board, I lemminged this skirt, the famous VC tube skirt of last year. I never ended up with an occasion to wear it, but I finally wore it this weekend...funny, so did Suz! That's why I remember who I am copying, although I also think I'm copying Diana and Mo. And wow, I really loved wearing it! I felt great! I'm a little confused as to why something that felt so different for me (well, especially last year when I bought it) also felt so perfectly "me". But this was a 10 on the happiness scale, so yay for all of you who have helped me! I owe you tons!
