For my birthday I splurged on some 100% silk items from Grana. As I was adding them to my capsule, I realized I have an entire capsule just in silk. This started me down a path of natural, soft, luxurious. To the silk I'm adding cashmere, merino, denim, canvas, smooth poplin and linen. I think it will be my most huggable wardrobe ever. Pic 1 is today's huggable outfit, 2-4 are all the silk lovelies, 5 is the whole huggable range. I'll just be over here petting myself.

Yea! I just bought the Grana shirt you show in photo #1. Love it! How do you find the sizing compares between the short sleeve shirt and the tanks? How do you find the fit around the armhole on the tanks?

What a great closet! You are looking svelte and stylish. I'll be interested to hear how all your natural fibers are holding up after a year and how involved the care of them is/was. One of the draws of synthetics is the easy care and wear (doesn't wrinkle as easily). It seems my lifestyle is just too casual and potentially 'dirty' to wear clothes that need dry cleaning (even hand washing is a stretch- okay I'm laundry lazy:-/).
You make it very appealing with all your descriptions and great oitfits!

Emily, I'd say Grana is cut a smidge on the small side. No issues on the armholes. Photo 1 is the Everlane square shirt, though. I've been curious about Grana's button ups. They definitely look like a slimmer cut than the square shirt.

Tina, my dirty secret is that in the last few years I've stopped washing my clothes as often and it's made everything easier. I try to hang things up to air out after I wear them, and that generally gets me 3-10 wears depending on the item and activity. Somehow I feel synthetics hold smells and have to be washed with each wear, that's another reason I've moved away from them. Also, I'm terrible about dripping food on myself, so I lose more clothing items to stubborn grease spots than anything. I did notice my beloved Grana silk pants are in much worse shape than I'd realized before the new ones showed up.

Another who is working toward a more huggable wardrobe. I also find that synthetics hold odors and need more frequent cleaning. I have mostly natural fibers and hand wash most. I can't remember the last time it was necessary to go to the dry cleaners. What can not be washed ( very little) gets Dyelle in the dryer and comes out fresh after hanging on fat hangars to get completely dry.

Love your huggable wardrobe. I prefer natural fabrics to synthetics as well, Traci.

Re grease spots: You will never lose another clothing item—regardless of fabric content—to grease spots again if you use Carbona stain devils. A friend turned me on to them a few years ago, and they are great. Sometimes you can find them at hardware stores, but Amazon carries them as well. I couldn't keep a nice wardrobe without Stain Devil #5, Fats and Cooking Oils. No, I do not have a stake in the company. Wish I did!

I absolutely love your outfit! And your silk capsule looks amazing. I have added a cashmere poncho and scarf to my wardrobe this week and seriously I am consumed with how good they feel to wear. I relate very much to your love of beautiful, luxurious and easy to wear fabrics. You are going to just love getting dressed every day x

Yessss! I can't wear uncomfortable fabrics. Even if they were easier to take care of (they aren't), the feeling on my skin just would be too distracting. But the fabrics you highlight don't just remove the negative--they actually move the needle over to the positive side. And you've chosen some very nice pieces.

Nice pieces! I can't stand synthetic fabrics either. I have a few blended fabrics, but not many because they just don't feel good or wear well.

I agree that natural fibers can usually go much longer between laundering. During the cooler months I wear merino and cashmere items quite a few times between cleaning. Airing them out really helps.

Oh my gosh, that Everlane blouse is terrific on you!
I really like all of the items pictured! You and LaP are convincing me I should definitely look at Grana!
I made the natural fiber switch a while back, and have never regretted it. I often steam silks and wools between washing and find that freshens them nicely. For grease spots I HIGHLY recommend Janie Stick, an absorbant product.

Because I'm a lazy laundress, I pretty much wash all my silks in a lingerie bag in the machine on delicate cycle with appropriate cleansers. Haven't had a disaster yet. Fingers crossed that luck continues!

I love the "huggable" capsule!

I, too, have found that natural fibers don't need laundering as much as their synthetic counterparts, which makes me feel doubly good about buying them, as water conservation is always in the forefront out here in the West. And I also wash my silks in a lingerie bag on the wool/handwash cycle. I do try to buy silk that says "hand wash" on the care tag, though, because I know some finishes don't handle hand washing as well as others.

Huggable capsule with natural fibers is such a great idea. I will have to look into the brand grana. This is somthing to explore.

What a fabulous idea! These items are indeed luxurious, but they are in modern, practical forms that will really work for "real" life. Also, with lots of silk, it's easier to make a plan to care for it. The "one silk blouse" seems like a pain by itself, when now you can launder your silks together.
