I am very happy to report that item #8 on my 12-item closet edit list is complete! The particular task was to hack all my jeans that I wanted shorter and with raw hem myself. Earlier today my special hacking equipment ordered from Amazon (#16) arrived and I was very inspired to attack the task immediately.

Overall, I hacked 6 pairs of jeans and one pair of cords. All but one pair are very old, most have been worn a lot and forgotten in the past couple of years due to changing trends. 5 hacked pairs of jeans pairs are premium denim. I am showing two photos for each hacked pair, a close up of the cropped jean/booties and a styled outfit. Feel free to comment on the pairing of the jeans and booties, particularly if you do not think the chosen booties, that is the shaft height/ankle opening, work with those particular jeans. Also feel free to suggest shorter lengths for some jeans you think would look better that way (longer is no longer possible at this point ). I need to wash and dry all the freshly hacked jeans to encourage proper fraying.
Finally, a little teaser: all the styled outfits are based on one of the three different outfit formulas I came up with for the cropped straight/flare pants + high shaft booties outfit silhouette and the big reveal of all the formulas with tons of pictures will start from the middle of the upcoming week.

#1-3: Inspired by the famous staggered hem Frame jeans ( find #1) from NAS, I hacked an old pair of premium straights that has been worn a lot . I am curious if you think I got the length difference correct (2"). For those who own the real Frame jeans, what is the hem difference on them? The outfit is a carbon copy of the styling shown in NAS catalog: TT coat, white pussy-bow blouse, metallic booties.

#4-5: This particular hack was already discussed in my recent culotte thread and was inspired by Angie's famous R&B jeans (find #2) I hacked an old, but almost never worn (due to the need of 4" heels) pair of light black pinstripe denim into culottes of the length you helped me choose on that thread.

#6-7: Another NAS inspiration, this time by Joe's crop kick flare Olivia jeans (find #3). The pair I hacked is also by Joe's, and ancient pair of wider bootcuts called Honey (curvy fit) that has been worn to death.

#8-9: My H&M crop kick flare faded black jeans from last fall (find #4). YLF deemed them a bit too long so I shortened them about 1.5".

#10-11: An ancient pair of premium grey skinny/straight that has been worn ridiculous amount. My shortest hack.

#12-13: Another ancient premium denim pair, this one eggplant, that has been barely worn due to their baby boot-cut that was very difficult to pair with right shoes.

#14-15: Finally, an old pair of taupe cords that has also been worn a lot. I usually wear them tucked into tall suede boots as I never knew how to pair them with right short boots. I was inspired by a raw hem taupe pair of cords by Mother I saw on Shopbop (Find #5).
