How versatile are dressy white pants?

This happens every year at this time--ALL I want to wear are white pants. I added some off-white Gap Long and Leans to my jean collection and have now been wondering about white dress pants that I can wear to the office.

Angie and others--what are your thoughts on white dress pants? If they are the kind of thing that I would only wear once or twice then I can't justify the purchase (or price). But if they could end up being closet workhorses, even if just during warmer weather, then I'd go ahead and get them.

LOVE! So Euro and chic. Not terribly practical - but then I am the gal who wears cream coats, boots and trenches.

I don't have white dress pants because I don't need them (I have three pairs of white jeans). But as a lawyer in the Bay Area - you have the lifestyle and the weather. Plus you love tomato red and black - great tops for white trousers.

Go for it.

Those are great-looking! They're called wide leg but they don't look extreme, so they'd be great for office. Very versatile, I think, with all kinds of tops. I like an all-neutral look too, like a nude blouse/top.
I don't often wear trousers, but I wear the heck out of my white skirts in summer.

I love my white trousers, I wear them all the time in the summer! Mine aren't quite that dressy, more of a cotton trouser, but I wear them with a little jacket to work and then out on the weekend nights with heels and a cute top.

They look great and I think they'd be really versatile if you don't usually wear jeans to work. I have a pair of white trousers, which need upgrading, and I wear them all the time in summer.

Probably they would need to be cleaned much more often than dark slacks, but I think they would look great and professional on you.

I have some winter white dress pants that I really like. (I have to wear business casual to formal business for work.) I find them extremely versatile. I also always carry a tide pen with me. It's been a life saver with the white pants and just about everything else I own, actually.

You will look fab in those.
I wear a very pale cream pair in the summer and so far no problems. I have had them about 5 years and they wash and wear very well. I also love that you can put them with so many colours for the summer.

With white pants you must have the right shoe color and style. Don't forget this! It may add $$$ to your purchase if you don't have the shoes.

I would definitely vote yes. They may not be practical but they are polished and cool looking even on the hottest day. I bought some with Angie last sprin and I have definitely enjoyed them.
