how to wear white flats?

Yes, I'm shoe crazy lately. For now I'm not buying much... mostly researching and making a favorites list at Zappos.

There is a pair of white flats at Zappos that I like, but I'm not sure how versatile they would be. Similar ones are suggested in one of the MOTG blog entries, shown with the white jeans:

I have white jeans, so that would be a no-brainer combo. Would those be ok with dark jeans too? Skirts or dresses, depending on style?

Those are cute and would look great with brightly colored skirts and a tan! Also navy blue...

If I remember rightly, when wearing white shoes you need to repeat white somewhere else in the outfit, say a watch, bag, top etc. I can't remember the reason though. I'm sure Angie will chime in x x

Brenda~ I would caution you about white shoes. You have dark hair like I do. On me, white shoes look like bricks on my feet. Something about the white shoes being such a contrast to my dark hair just doesn't quite mesh. White shoes look fab on blondes.

My light neutrals are silver metallics. This works better for me.

With my brown hair I do wear my cream flats a lot - especially since the ankle incident. They act almost more like a nude than a white shoe. Maybe another option to think about. When possible, I do try to wear off white somewhere else to tie them in to the outfit, but not always.
