How to wear this dress to work tomorrow?

Monday is my dress day. My (fabulous gay) brother gave me this adorable dress for Christmas. It is a gorgeous navy lace over beige piece with a very vintage feel.

I can do a light yellow, bright pink or beige cardigan. Or I wonder if a light blue button down underneath would work, as I've seen done with sheath dresses?

The only legwear I have to wear would be either navy solid tights or beige cable knit tights. Shoes I'm debating are tan pointy toe heels, the brown pumps with a round toe and bow, or my cognac Oxford flats.

Opinions?

I like #4. Something about how the taupe/beige picks out the background of the dress and lets the lace overlay be the star.

I think it would look nice with the navy tights and the pointy flats. Very pretty!

Dark sheer tights or the navy; see which of pointy vs the taupe shoe works best. The dress reads " cool" colored so I like the pink cardigan. Black or navy would also work. I think a fine- gauge or similar more refined knit goes with the dressy vibe. Also, might look great" juxtaposed" with moto jacket. Not saying you have or have to get these, just that the dress has many possibilities!

Great input so far, I think I am agreeing with the pink cardigan and pointy tan shoes. I can "punk" up the look a bit with neon fuchsia lips and fun hair. I do wish I had a slightly softer navy tights, because I often feel odd wearing dark tights and lighter color shoes, but I think it will be fine.

Unfrumped - I LOVE the idea of wearing it with my leather jacket, but since I just wore that on Friday I think that look should wait. Great idea for spring maybe!

Does anyone think this is too dressy for my job? (office admin/mgr at a media software tech company) Maybe flats would be better in that case?

Ooo I like that idea too.. I have such a hard time putting navy and black together though. Maybe if I were wearing the black leather jacket, but idk if I like it with pink cardigan hmmm

I'm mostly dressed except for the shoes so we'll see when I try a couple on!

Yes, outfits definitely evolve as you try the items on together; sometimes I swap out one item (and then another and another) and end up with an entirely different outfit to the one I had envisaged!!!

I like the outfit. I kinda forgot to focus fully on the work part. For some workplaces,it might be a little short. The style and high neckline are good though and I thought the round medallion sort of lace work red as a patterned dress, not just lace. It may depend on the " sit test" , and also, opaque tights would tone things down.
It depends so much on individual office vibe and related office hierarchy and advancement issues.

Our office, luckily, is very relaxed. Most of the employees are college grads and I'm easily 8-10 years older than at least half of them. That, the fact that it's in the tech industry, and I have no desire to ever advance past where I am now (office manager) means I take a lot of liberties with my wardrobe

You look beautiful in the pink cardigan with this dress. How lucky to have such a fabulous brother!!!

PLEASE PLEASE try this wonderful dress over the light blue button down -- when you suggested that, my brain clamped on it and would not let go! Especially with navy tights and the bow pumps or black booties. And don't be afraid of navy and black. It's really chic.
