How to wear sheer tops

I'm wondering how you would style these items.
Could you wear them with jeans?
Should you wear a column of colour underneath?

I'm a sweaters-and-jeans type of person, so these layering pieces are very "advanced".

I have a coupon that runs out today, so need some quick advice, if possible.

I'd do a column of color underneath, and it seems like they'd be fine with jeans.

Agree with the column of color - I would match my under layer (cami or tank) with the jeans/leggings/pants so there wouldn't be a line in the middle of the top.

Top #3 could definitely go with jeans, over a tank. I just got some Uniqlo airism seamless tanks that would work well though they only come in black and white.

Sheer, body-hugging tunics can be hard because of how pants look under them. Just hard to find the right combo. For myself I prefer loose + sheer.

I agree with wearing a tank underneath. You can't go wrong with a column of color.

I *did* end up getting all three and I think I'll get a pencil skirt at BR to create a column of colour. I also have some pants with a low-profile waistband I can try.

A column of colour underneath is OK, of course. But consider other solutions, too, like:
- a cami/tank in the same colour as the top
- a cami/tank in your skin colour
- no cami/tank, but a bra in your skin colour, plus a topper in any colour you prefer (For summer wear, you may choose a topper that is lightweight and perhaps sleeveless)

I have problems with sheer tops because I don't like an obvious line between the underlayer top and my pants. I usually choose a column of color to avoid that line. Cat has some great suggestions in her response.

I'll do some experiments.

It seems to me like the more bodycon one could also be pushed up to convert it to a regular top that's a bit ruched around the midsection.

I am also considering a cropped, boxy sweater.

Column of color is my preferred solution. For semi sheer tops, I might just do a big scarf double wrapped to cover the chest area a bit and not worry too much about the rest.
