How to wear color with cream knee-high leather boots...

Hi. I have a pair of knee-high leather boots but I am unsure of how/what to color of outfit to wear with them. I'm wary of being unbalanced with dark on top/white shoes...Photo examples would be great!

Boots, skinnies with a neutral cardi and a colorful tee or tank? Or perhaps a neutral top with a bold, colorful statement necklace would work.

I agree that you need to draw from the boot color, but just a dash of it might work too, such as a cream/neutral wide belt/obi, statement necklace or scarf.

seriously cute boots. rt has a great idea to echo the boot color elsewhere.

but really, i think you could wear almost anything with these boots and not seem out of place. i would probably do dark on top and get progressively lighter as i go to the shoe. with skirts, you could continue the legline with nude or cream patterned tights/hose.

Are they white or cream I can't tell? If white, the easiest way is to make sure you repeat white somewhere else in the outfit, bag, necklace etc I do this with my white clogs. Not sure of the same applies to cream and other pale colours x

Why is it that you are not sure if repeating the lighter color of the boots somewhere in the outfit will work for white, but not for cream or other lighter colors? If that is the case, I am really a walking felony.... I would love to know!

Zapotee, think I misexplained. To make white shoes work you really need to wear white somewhere else in the outfit, however with cream you can 'choose' to wear something else cream but you don't have to *I think*

Only white shoes need another white item I don't think it applies to say a white handbag x

Diona, see that picture of Angie at the bottom of the page, when she was interviewed on the Today show and is wearing that green jacket? They didn't show them on film, but Angie was wearing cream patent boots with her outfit that day. As far as I know, there were only bolder colors in the top part of the outfit. So there you have it -- it can be done.

I wore mine today with denim skinny's black boyfriend jacket(arms rolled to show same boot color in lining ) lots of cream pearls and black t-neck..

The repeat in color was in the rolled back sleeves and pearls.

BTW, I was in LOFT today and I rather I expected every person working there to look Taylor-fab. I was a bit disappointed when no one looked as drop-dead elegant and fab as you. Angie is *obsessed* with cream footwear and wears them all the time. If you go to the blog archives and look under "Angie's Outfits," I'm confident you'll see a number of her cream boot ensembles in action. Hopefully those can provide inspiration, since she pairs cream with black all the time and adores bold splashes of colour!
