I also love that series and have been following it for years now. I believe she has a history degree and I like that she's educated and wry. I often use it to decide what I don't want. New way to wear something? Nope, still don't like that.
Anything with a white shirt is lost on me - though I did like the recent Prada style of wearing a grey cardigan under a low cut dressy/evening dress. But wouldn't do it. I can't wear a white shirt in place of where I would wear a white tee because I don't dress like that - I don't own a single white tee. And currently don't even own a black one, either.
ETA: now, one trend she showed lately that I did like very much and would wear is the fancier skirt worn with an athletic grey tee. Why? Go figure. Maybe because in the first place I own a number of shades and fabrications of grey tops and they get a lot of wear. But somehow one way of dressing something down doesn't appeal to me and the other does. Though I haven't done it yet because I am fairly resistant to juxtaposition dressing.
