How to wear a sweater dress

This is my one and only sweater dress. I received it as gift few years ago and don’t have a stock photo of it. I do like it but don’t know how to style it. I wore it just a few times, every time in the same combination- black tights and black tall boots. Do you have any other ideas? None of my blazers, jackets and even scarves seem to work with it.

I would wear black with it too because of the black trim, but blush or nude could also work. Pretty dress.

Except of black, maybe you try with nude hose and red boots, I think you bought them, and also try with your white boots.

How about nude hose and silver footwear? Or cream? White boots if you can echo the white with a bag or accessory or pearls? It is a very pretty dress.

Is it short enough to wear with pants? A light tan might be nice.

Fun dress! How about pairing it with black skinny/straight leg/bootcut jeans and black or brown booties or oxfords. I could also see it with white or cream bottoms. Or instead of tall black boots, wear it with black tights and booties or fun sneakers?

Another idea: wear it with a maxi cardigan, like in the 3rd option in this post.

Maybe it could work with jeans under. My other idea is with grey tights and grey tall boots. You could even try it with black cotton fancy joggers and flat footwear.

In footwear, I would wear red, grey, metallic and cognac shoes and boots with this.

In terms of toppers, I would wear a trench coat over this (black or beige), a red coat or an earth toned coat (like in finds below).

Great ides. I can try some of them, but don't have all the components mentioned. I only have black tall boots, trying for last 3 winter to get the new pair in some other color, but no luck. Never wore the dress with booties, not sure if I would like it, but sure can try. Don't even remember how long is the dress, did not wear it for more than a year.
