How To Style This Dress

I bought this Land's End dress which was in an Angie round up a while ago. I intend to wear it to work and have a short white denim jacket I can use as a topper. Is there another type of topper I should consider? What shoes or sandals would work with it? It looks like the model has brown sandals; I could certainly do that. The overall look should be business casual with a touch of fun (the limes provide that!) but not veer into frumpy or precious. Please help me finish styling my dress!

I really love the lime print!

In terms of toppers, I think the white denim jacket would look great. I could also see navy working really well, in a cardigan or something like a linen blazer. Or maybe even something picking up that yellow for a matchier look.

And, for shoes, metallic sandals or flats might be cute. The brown ones sound like a good choice too.

Would you ever consider a white blazer? I think this dress pairs with a lot of nice colours - you could really go high or low contrast here.

I simply adore the limes; if I was styling it for myself, I'd add on a white belt and a navy cardigan ... but that's just me

I would go with white or navy also. If you're brave or bold, orange, yellow, or fuchsia. Is it a similar length on you as the model? If so, I think it would look best with some kind of heel or wedge.

Yes, those limes got to me, too, so much that I ordered the dress!
AUBERGINE--I have pewter sandals I'll try.
LYN--My white blazer is long. I actually tried it with the dress but thought that long blazer over midi-length dress veered toward frumpy.

SUZ--Yes, mine is a tall (one of several things I love about this dress!) The only summer wedges I have are black. I don't have either white or nude sandals yet. Oh bummer, guess I'll have to go shoe shopping.
As soon as I got the dress, I thought about pairing it with a yellow or lime-colored short cardi. (More shopping. Oh, darn.)

I think wedges would be fantastic or a block heel sandal...colours brown/nude/silver/gold/white/blue/pink/purple/green/yellow/orange - as long as if it is a colour it has a similar bright fresh intensity.
Topper, a cropped denim jacket, cardigan or shrug...white would be perfect but other colours would also work.

Pretty dress, and so summery! I would stay toward the dressy side with the sandals, preferably with a little heel, for work. Something strappy like the ones below, maybe? In metallic, white, cream or cognac.
I like the topper ideas offered; kiwigal has given a great list, and I could see any of them with this dress for work.

I will not cover this pretty dress up! But a denim jacket white or blue sounds like a fun combo for the weekends. And I also love Firecracker's shoe choices for this. A cognac moto would look fun too :). Perhaps a winter look though.

That dress is too cute! I love the fun lime print. A white, red or orange, blue, or distressed blue cropped denim jacket would look fab. I love those VC booties pictured above. The coral booties would be fun, the steel or washed grey more practical.

FIRECRACKER--Thanks for the visuals! I ADORE those V.C. birdcage booties but am reluctant to add that much heel height to my 5'11 1/2" frame. But you've given me a focus--a heel or wedge ladylike espradille or sandal. Or maybe a pump.
NEEL--Cognac could be luscious with this; I'm wanting to wear some cognac accessories this fall, anyway...
KARIE--It's kind of an uplifting dress, isn't it?! I am in love with the V.C. booties, especially in that yummy coral, but as I told Firecracker, I don't want that much heel height.

Love this dress! Elegant, but also fun! I like the idea of a white or navy blazer, too! For a casual look, you could pair the dress with a metallic sandal or even a birkie like shoe.

I see a lot of suggestions for white and navy. While I do think that's a great combo with the dress, I feel like I should warn you that it's also a super preppy combo. Now if that's the look you are going for, that's great. But for me personally, I'd want to tone down the prep a bit, so I'd probably do something like chunky cognac sandals and a denim jacket (a bit more earthy), or metallic gladiators and a moto (more edgy).
