How to style classic dress pants?

So, in case you haven't seen any of my posts yet, I'm trending towards bombshell, rockabilly, and generally anything vintage stylistically.

How can I incorporate my classic trousers into this theme? They aren't high waisted, so I can't pull off the Katherine Hepburn look. I usually just wear a simple solid top or sweater, maybe a button down, almost always tucked in. That feels so boring to me. Any ideas?

Hmm. Can you fake a high waist with a topper that indents at the waist quite a lot, for a more bombshell look?

It may be that this type of pant just doesn't work with your style preferences. But if you need to wear them for a work environment, that is frustrating.

I remember wearing short knit tops with rather wide stretchy banded bottoms with trousers. These tops emphasized the waist and hips, giving a bombshell look. It could be further carried out with a short jacket that is fitted at the waist like a Bomber or moto jacket.
If the trouser waist is too low, could you wear a fitted tee or tank tucked in and a cropped top over that?

I think they can fit with your style, because they can look very ladylike. I'm thinking with--
a close-fitting cashmere round-neck sweater, tucked or faux-tucked over a narrow belt, with pearls
a beaded or sequined round-neck cardigan, worn over a silky blouse or buttoned up over a cami
a long v-neck cardigan, buttoned and belted at the waist
a short, collarless swing jacket and silky shell or blouse
a bow blouse topped by jean jacket
and for footwear, pumps or heeled oxfords.

Some great suggestions. Now to see if I have those tops...

It isn't so much that I have to wear them for work, it's more that I thought I would have to based on things said during my interview with the gm, so I bought them, and now it appears I didn't really need to after all and don't want them to do to waste.
