How to style a dress for the glam mature rocker?

Hi Everybody!
I am new here, thank you for having me!

I would like to get your advice about how to style MICHAEL KORS TAFFETA BUBBLE SKIRT DRESS.

Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of experience with styling and fashion in general, but I want to learn more and actually want to start enjoying the clothes.

Please help me - this is my first try.

The occasion is a rock concert for 40+, in a jazz club, not too fancy, and edgy, but I still want to look appropriate and fun and a little glam!

Hello Lady A, and welcome! This is very fun place to be.
That is a very cute dress (the second link doesn't work, btw). For a jazz club I would style it with modern ankle strap shoes or perhaps lace-up sandals, and a fun bright clutch.

I'd wear lace up espadrilles and dangly earrings (no stockings in this case), personally. But I'm quirky

I think peeptoe shoes would go nice.

Since you mentioned tights, how about the bigger-mesh fishnets that are in the fashion magazines now, with short boots or booties, depending on your taste. Any thing from doc martens to motorcycle type boots, to stiletto booties?

I vote chunky black sandals or black booties (depending on whether it is warm or cold and what you have). I prefer a small cross body to a clutch for clubs--easier to wear or hang since in front of you on the table takes up room and floor/lap is awkward. Purse: pop of color (glam not glum) or black/metallic would work.

I would wear it with black sandals that have studs or rhinestones on them, if you can find some. And some kind of long, dangly necklace. I'm not good with necklaces, but maybe something with three strands (multistrand necklace) that is a little on the chunkier side might work. You don't want it to be so dainty that it isn't easily seen.

Unless it's too warm, I think a short black leather motorcycle jacket would be quite "rocker" and glam with that dress and boots.

I ALWAYS start with the shoes. The first thing I would check is if the show is seated or general admission. Almost all rock shows that I've been to are GA with jazz clubs being more likely to have seats. I won't do heels or anything open toe to a general admission rock show.

I'd do booties and bracelets with that.
