How to recreate this look...is it 'sexy' to u?

I have this picture from Instyle that I just am fascinated by but if I go out and buy a dress like this ...what is it that makes it sexy? What makes this look work like that? Or do you gals think it isn't sexy?

I have a visit to boyfriend this weekend and could try to put something like this together?

PS: hope the boots are not the important feature ...could never manage a heel like that!

Sexy? It just depends. I think our interpretations of this vary so much, and not only that, so do our bodies. This look could be great on the right person. I think you'd need to be tall, with a flair for drama, and basically slender but not skinny.

It's definitely sexy. The dress drapes about the body, and the boots are sexy just by themselves. Casual glam [how glam depending on accessories].

Variation: Worn tunic style with skinny jeans - still sexy, more laid back.

I think the dress definitely has sexy potential. It's so fluid and dramatic. The boots are sexy, too. Overall, it's a feminine and subtle sexy look....which is better than an overtly sexy look IMO.

I am not sure: do you want it to be sexy or are you afraid it is too sexy?
I can see this dress working even for my work style: with tall boots (but different ones, not this high heel) and turtleneck under the dress to keep me warm and make the dress more casual...

I can definitely see this dress "worn tunic style" with skinny jeans, but I think those boots would be a requirement then. The heel is not as high as you first suspect, there is a substantial platform there. The dress and boots would definitely get me out of my boot cuts and into skinny jeans again.

What have you got to lose by trying? You would certainly make an unforgettable entrance, and your boyfriend would not want you to go back home. In fact, I'm willing to bet he'll request that outfit for all future visits. Ask me how I know.

Nice dress. It is flowy so figure skimming versus a glued-to-your-body look. I do think heels are a key part to this look. The low cut neckline and stiletto heel are what make this look sexy. Sexy isn't bad in my book.

Thanks, for the responses. SO skimming and boots with a heel seem the things to look for! ( I have boots at least even though not stiletto)

I don't like overtly sexy so I was trying to find something subtle and this appealed even though I could not figure out why.

STUNNING dress! I think you should give this look a try! I think it's sexy, but not cheap and sleazy, if that's what the concern is! You don't need to do a high boot heel with this, lower heels or even flats can work, I think!
