How to make this top work

I bought this top with the intension of wearing it with slim/straight leg pants and some ankle boots to a family lunch love the boots love the top very different color and length style to what I'm used to but did not love the pants so sent them back and as lunch is Saturday no time to get anything else is there anyway of making this work with bootleg pants ? I know all you ladies can work major magic with clothes and turn a paper bag into a fantistic outfit. Thanks for any advise I'm a tall rectangle if that helps too is a rust color with silver sparkle to it

Shaz, this is a great color and I think it would look good with bootcut jeans/pants. What color are the pants and the boots? A scarf or necklace might be a nice finisher to add to this.

Black bootlegs and black boots are my only options at the minute no jeans allowed I like the sound of your ideas thank you for taking the time

I also really need it to work with this as a topper my lovely jacket went out of stock after I ordered so only other option is my horrible coat lol but not sure it works as both styles are so new to me

Yes, I am with torontogirl - the outfit is there, the top works with the pants. Just add something like a necklace, scarf etc. to lighten the facendo. Maybe even a pair of studs.

Borrowing a necklace and looking for a pair of earrings can only find one lol wrong pants in picture I think those were flared jeans. Tried the top with slim pants that I'm returning and it's a better look just not those pants they give sausage casing I think it's been called on here lol never realised so much work went into just wearing clothes but I've always been a throw on and go kinda person that until the last week didn't really give any thought about what I was wearing

I think you get your eye used to get the right fit and proportions the more you pay attention to it, so don't despair!

I think my eye is blind to my own shape and what's works I think Ive got Into the habit of wearing a certain kind of Jeans footwear and top that anything even slightly different and non plain black always looks odd to me so much easier to look at someone elses outfits and think that's lovely lol

This type of top + skinny jeans = a good look on most people.
Keep looking for a pair of skinny pants that are non-sausage casing!
I find shopping and finding outfits very hard too.
If you have time, take some time to just try a lot of stuff on at the store (without buying). You can sort of think of it as a learning session.
As a way of easing in to things, you could try new silhouettes in the plain black that you always wear. That way you don't feel like you're too far away from yourself.
