"How to Dress" videos

Happy New Year!

I have been enjoying some of the How to Dress videos with Jess Cartner- Morley from The Guardian. They dovetail very nicely with Angie's blog posts and advice and each one is focused on a single item. What I like is the visual of the construction and fabrication of the clothing ( though brief), and movement. Its akin to how it is helpful when online product has video, and you can tell, oh that is/ is not what i thought it would look like. That has given me some ideas of what I could be looking for, comparison shopping, details or construction elements I might want to hold out for. I can relate them to ensembles or outfits on YLF, and to my closet items.

Hi unfrumped, thanks! You are right, she is very complimentary to Angie in her topics ... I like her tone also; she is obviously a fashionista, but also calls it out for what it is, good and bad, e.g. in one she notes that a trend comes, people like her trumpet it for a week and then forget about it ... ha

I have always enjoyed her videos too. Unfortunately there haven't been any new ones since October ish - she seems to have switched to the 'what I wore this week' columns which are ok, but not as broad and informative as the videos were.

I am going through the articles - these are funny! Thank you for the link I will have to hunt down the videos sometime soon, when my ears aren't being filled full of college football.

Many of them are about juxtaposition of new and old or dressy and casual, which is one of the key things I've liked about YLF and that works for me ( though am still learning).
So there is a sensibility about them
and realistic chance that SYC is actually possible. That combines well with some of the recent discussions on re- mixing, longevity, downsizing but still trying new looks.
