How to dress ?

How to dress to. Lunch at a golf club if you are not playing golf? I have been to dress up functions at country clubs, but never in the daytime. Do the ladies at lunch there wear what they wore after finishing 18 holes.? I know little about golf, but I think jeans are not allowed. The group I am invited with are not golfers either. Should I go just as I were going to a nice restaurant?

I think you're on the right path if you dress as though you were going to a nice restaurant. I would suggest wearing low heeled or flat shoes if you have to do any walking on grass. Collared shirts, soft blouses, or sweaters are safe choices for daytime golf club causal. Don't forget to add a little something special to your outfit like a pop of color to a neutral ensemble, a statement jewelry piece or a festive/vibrant print.

yes, no jeans in dining room. some clubs allow in the bar area - all depends. i have worn dark wash no pocket trouser style jeans with dressy shoes/pumps and dressy sweater/shirt in dining room at CC. if eating in the grill area, yes, ladies will just wear what they wore on course. you can be more casual if in grill area.

I grew up on a golf course and in a country club Overdressing will be as odd as underdressing - and if it's a higher-end private club, women will be dressed in what they wore on the course, but with the proverbial sweaters tied over their shoulders (where do you live that people are still golfing in November ??) and freshened up hair and makeup. I'd wear knits - and a flat driving loafer or classic mule .
