Michelle you've inspired me again! I need to get on the coat issue. Last winter was awful weather wise but somewhat okay because I spent most of it indoors. This year I know my son will want to be outside playing and I have many more commitments which mean I'll be a very active MOTG and I need some nice warm coats. I just don't know how to choose them. Currently I live in Northern VA (30 minutes south of DC) but as a military family we'll be moving in about 2 years and don't know where we'll be. The winter before last I was in beautiful southern CA and only needed a sweatshirt or light jacket. Before that was coastal North Carolina. I absolutely love Michelle's puffer and think something like that would be quite useful. I'm thinking a long one around my knees would keep me nice and toasty. I'd also like a shorter (just above the hips) coat too. My big questions are color & temperature. Do I get the longer coat in the warmest temperature or the shorter one? I'd really love to have at least one of them in navy but which one? I think black or gray for the other. I've got a Land's End near me that I'll be visiting next week to try some one but would like guidance before I go.
Here's what I'm thinking so far:
LONG
1) This is the longer version of Michelle's coat (I think its longer) in Navy and petite. Is it too warm for anything but annual blizzards? http://www.landsend.com/pp/Sty.....9-_-394641
2) http://www.landsend.com/pp/Sty.....1-_-396509
2)This one looks just so pretty! http://www.landsend.com/pp/Lux.....038;sku_0=::AG7&CM_MERCH=IDX_00002__0000000142&origin=index
Shorter
