I had this wonderful fluffy yolk design sweater but never wore it because I felt (I will admit) "fat" in it - but what I think I really felt was that proportions were wrong; and (I will speak for myself) I have come to realize that often when I want to qualify an outfit as fattening, I really mean that the proportions are off, because I'm not "fat".
Well this whole "fat" thing was so very counterproductive because instead of seeing something was wrong with this garment bought one lucky day on sale at Winners I thought the problem pertained to my body and therefore kept the garment aside, for "when I would suit it". Mistake! I finally saw the light and brought it to my seamstress who is literally a cross between a God-sent angel and a magical fairy.
She immediately identified the problem: too much gaping from the sides and... too big around the waist. So she arranged it and below are the before and after pics.
(In the first one, there is an open slit at the bottom, but because the sweater is meant to be form fitting and cropped, the gaping slits did not work. In the second pic, slits are closed and sides are taken in a bit).

(I also added side views. My arm is unfortunately hiding the slit in both, but you can see how in the first of the two the sweater looks fuller in the front).

UPDATE: here is the sweater with a few different bottoms.
