another reason to hope that self driving cars get here fast!

hope that your recovery is swift, and that your spirits remain high.

I am so sorry to hear what you have been going through. And I am impressed how well you are handling it all. You are so calm, controlled and positive. No complaining at all. You are a very fine role model.

I sincerely hope you will get a pleasant vacation in the end of December. Best wishes and many warm thoughts.

Wow, that is a lot to go through in a short period of time! I’m so sorry, but glad you are OK. Be gentle with yourself for a while.

Sending healing thoughts!

Big hugs and sending you warm thoughts. We are here to support you. How lovely that you received compliments on your outfit.

bridgie, I admire your composure and equanimity very much! I also believe that many--maybe most--people should not have been granted a driver's license to begin with... I am sorry you went through this and I am inspired by your positive spin with a fashion-happiness touch to it.

Bridgie I am so sorry you were hurt and that your neighbourhood was damaged in the storm. Thinking of you as such a lovely ( and enabling! ) forum member. x

I am so sorry about you accident and damage caused by the weather. Take your time and be gentle with yourself.

bridgie - so very sorry!! I am just so happy you are ok. Yes, it never rains but it pours. Just sending healing prayers and good wishes that all for a speedy recovery and may all the "bad weather" go out in 2017 and may 2018 bring you a year of safety, health, peace, prosperity and joy!! Hugs and more hugs!!

Thank you

Sal, I now have a reputation to live up to, rockin' spunky looks. LOL I am way-way behind on reading forum posts, but in scanning it I believe you posted results of the election in NZ. I am going back and catch up on it.

Joyce, such sweet wishes from you. I do appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness.

BrieN Good news, I wiped and washed my stinky fridge and freezer compartment and restocked it today! Like everything else in my life my eating was chaotic, yet I was well supplied with food. My son lives next door, and his electric was off also. But he works in food services and catering and he would bring dinner every evening and the remainder, of each day, I ate yogurt, used all the almond milk I had and tried to use as much as I could of what I had in fridge. My biggest problem was not having a cup of hot coffee in the morning. One morning he brought me a cup of hot coffee. He has really done so much for me. He went to ER with me and has been helping with my insurance claim. His job is very demanding, as everybody's is, so I do not like to ask him to do anything unless absolutely necessary. His car is available to me almost any time, but I haven't used it yet and haven't gotten a rent-a-car yet either. Just put that decision on hold until first of next week.

Thank you

Anne, Yes it is a shock. I appreciate your saying I have a positive attitude. I do try to maintain a positive attitude, and if that comes thru here, maybe it is working!

Binkle, All the nice good wishes are appreciated. I am going to be o.k.

Bridgie, I am so sorry to read of your accident and damage the storm caused. Take some time and be good to yourself.
A few years ago, an accident turned our world upside down. Recovery and finding our new normal took a long time. When I had a few moments of quiet, I would come to YLF and read the posts. It was a nice respite for me. I hope you will be uplifted from stopping by when you can.
Wishing you well.

Bridgie, I’m so sorry to hear about your accident. How awful! I hope your recover quickly!

Oh, dear Bridgie! I clicked on the thread thinking "how quickly life can change" meant you'd be announcing you'd met a sizzling 35-year old with a yacht and were looking for beachwear tips for island vacations.

I'm so glad your son is so close, and could facilitate some coffee. Hope things get better and better.

Thank you

Eliza, gigi, Laura G. Your cheerful, comforting and up-beat wishes mean so much to me.

Rachy Lou, I do declare, bless your heart. Rachy, I did lie down for almost 3 days and nights! When daylight came I couldn't have my usual coffee and go to YLF and not into a good book at the time, so I ended up lying down again, wishing and expecting electric to come on.

Karen 13, I have a special post for you. In scrolling thru all the replies from my dear YLF friends I noticed I had checked the Comedy block for yours. That certainly was not my intention and I had not checked other blocks before you. Your reply was the last one on page 1 and I believe that was somehow the cause for that happening. And as far as I know once a block is checked it can't be changed. Your sweet, comforting, serious well intended reply was certainly not funny. It is very dear to me.

I know that only you and I see the rating given, but I felt this was where I should go to tell you this. Hugs to you!

Thank you

Bijou, Oh, I agree with you and John. So true.

Sisi and Cindy Smith, I have decided I had early Halloween!

Sterling, reporting back. Couple of questions for you--did you have any of the bad weather, Monday 23? And just wondering if you are familiar with West Jefferson. Touristy but nice. And the fall foliage colors between Catawba County and there was great.

Bridgie, I am late to read this. I am so sorry for all you have recently endured. Accidents are terrifying and unsettling. Not to mention the struggle to overcome injuries. I am awed by your spirit and so glad that you can take pleasure in managing to look terrific and feel good about your wardrobe in this stressful time. No doubt you are bringing others joy.

Thank you

fashiontern, yes, I do remember Mr. Bill from SNL, glad you reminded me, makes me chuckle now.

Jane, Robin, Ryce, Karen So many variables involved. I am thankful for all the small and big events that give me joy as I sort thru everything. Yes, it was scary. I was shaking after the accident. It happened in front of a police station so they appeared immediately, and my son was nearby when I called him and was there shortly. And on that subject, I didn't think to call my son until I was asked where I wanted my car towed? And they were preparing to take me to emergency room, I said I must call my son. Well, you can see where this is going, my son wouldn't have been very happy if I had gotten my self hauled off to ER and not called him since I was capable of doing so. And, of course I was glad he was there with me. And it was icing on the cake ??, that the subject of what I was wearing came up in ER. LOL

Full confession, I bought 1/2 pound Gouda cheese and a jar of blackberry jam at the cheese factory. I was afraid cheese wouldn't keep without refrigeration, so I ate all of it within a few days. Whole wheat bread and tomato, yummy. I didn't finish off the jam yet, but have eaten a good amount of it.

And I am so thankful for all my friends at YLF.

If ever there was a good excuse for emotional eating, this is it. And you did it in style!
Good thing you got around to calling your son. I remember visiting my dad once and noticing a piece of his ear missing, like he’d been in a sword fight. No, no swashbuckling was involved in the production of that notch; he had just had a little melanoma removed. My reaction to that tidbit of news was strong enough that they have not neglected to tell me of any medical issues since, lol.

So thankful you are ok and sending good thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Last evening I had written a lengthy post, thanking and responding to each of you that I had not previously done so. I was almost finished and before I could post it all disappeared. So, here I am again and I will post after fewer responses.

Thanks to all of you

kkards, I have been quite interested in the self-driving cars too. Humans invented that marvelous, powerful machine, the automobile, but it seems to me that the car is smarter than a lot of humans. I am doing well and maintaining high spirits, and a good part of that is because of my wonderful friends on YLF.

The Cat, you give me way too much credit, I can only hope to live up to it! You were right in there helping me plan for a vacation later this year. Right now, everything is on hold, but when the time is right, I will get back to that idea.

Janet, I am good to me. I find I am in an unusual situation as far as my wardrobe goes. With the late fall here, I still have clothes from NAS sale I haven't worn, therefore not coming up with all this stuff, I just have to have right now, but actually thinking about spring clothes. You keep your posts coming our way. I always enjoy.

Thank you

Kerry, style fan, I appreciate your sweet comforting thoughts.

K.M, I love how you can say so much in fewer words. That is not one of my strengths. I appreciate all the wonderful sentiments you have expressed.

I do agree with you a lot of people out there should not have driver's licenses. Perhaps, because I am older, I firmly believe that when driving, one's priority should be concentrating on driving. I was driving long before cell phones, texting and gps were invented. I do have a cell phone and I do text. I don't have a gps yet. All this is to say, I don't talk on my cell phone, much less text when I am driving.

Jenni, (doc) In this country doc is a friendly, endearing word, so I hope it is not a bad word in NZ. Did you get those red shoes you wanted? I hope so.

Mainelady, gryffin, staysfit, , YFL has been a fun place to me, but in bad times, I have found it to be a most comforting place. It is great hearing from you ladies.

Minimalist, if the scenario you described had happened, I would have sent my post "urgent".

Hi Bridgie re the red shoes, not yet. But possibly on this holiday we have just arrived on. I decided the white contrast on those other red sandals was not what I wanted. One day after getting back from holiday we go to the wedding I wanted them for. My red dress has laser cut-outs with black underneath and I will wear my black patent sandals if not found any new red ones here. So I'll be OK. Thank you for remembering x

Suz, Your post was very timely. I will be referring back to all of them for awhile. It was quite a chain of events. Thanks for all your kind comments.

fashiontern, yeah, I bet you were upset and I would have been too.

I am also glad I called my son before I went to emergency room. I had enough going on without incurring his wrath. lol

cheryl, thank you.

shopaholic77, you sized-up this mess very accurately. Thank you for posting.

Lisa, thank you.

OK, Jenni, glad we have you and the red shoes sorted. Enjoy your holiday. You deserve it.
