How my boyfriend jeans fit... Post yours here!

This evening's outfit before we leave for the cabin..

Here's a picture of my Gap Sexy Boyfriends - these are sized up for me, and I have one size down also, though there isn't much difference in the fit.

You can see they are not that low-waisted, but they do hang low in the crotch because they are long in the rise. They are loose around the thighs. I've tried my new favorite tuck here with my oh-so-rad Public Enemy shirt (thrifted but from Forever 21 - can't imagine what Chuck D. would have to say about that!).

I'm interested in feedback about the ankle length (I tried cuffing once more and once less, and this seemed like the best of the three), and also comparing what others think is a boyfriend jeans fit, as I suspect it will be different for each style and body type. This is definitely the one I love. I've also worn these with more dressy tops and jackets the way Angie suggested in today's post.

Seeing these Gap BF jeans on you, I know I gotta try them on! I love the fit on you Una and I think you have the length just right. And of course your cool tee semi-tucked with the rugged belt is a permanent companion to the jeans.

Shannon, just to add, my tertiary body type is apple, and these are very generous in that area. You do need to try them - hopefully they still carry them in this cut. You know how ever-changing Gap can be, so frustrating!

I think of yours as a "traditional" bf jean vs the "skinny" bf jean, which is more tapered. Love the slouchy and tough vibe (amplified by the belt and sunnies)! The cuff length looks OK to me.

Mine are of the skinny bf variety. (Sorry I keep posting the same pic; it's the only one I have on my computer!)

Oh I know - believe me! I think I just might head to Gap tomorrow and check them out. My issue will be, as always, my incredibly short legs. I often lose the "taper" in the bottom of the leg once I shorten the jeans. Thanks for the info!

Shannon, these come in petites also. They do run quite short, since they are meant to be cuffed. Check the measurements. I got the regular length so I *could* wear them uncuffed.

Unfortunately, Canadian Gap does not sell petites in any of their items. This is a long-standing beef with me. I don't understand how the American stores/website can sell petites but not the Canadian stores/website. However, they do sell different lengths so I'll try and find the shortest length they have.

And trust me...it is a HUGE compliment from my son to be called "cool". He actually has pretty fab style tastes if I do say so myself.

I really am a fan of Public Enemy, otherwise I'd feel like a poseur in this shirt.

Anna, I love the fit on yours, and I like them with the high vamp booties, kind of like my Danskos. Well, not really, but same idea.

These are ideal BF jeans to me. I will have to check them out and see if Gap still has them. I haven't been in a Gap store in years!

I think I prefer the 'skinny' bf look most. I mean, that you look fab Una, but with curves and wide thighs, the baggy version would turn me into a clump. I hope others will post who have my pear tendencies!

Here's the outfit I posted yesterday. I think mine, like Cathy's and Anna's are more skinny BF jeans, whereas yours are a little baggier, Una. Because the jeans are less tapered the cuffs will look wider and not sit so close against your leg when you roll them higher, perhaps that's why you don't like the higher roll with these?

I'm enjoying the exchange between Una and Shannon's son!

This is interesting - the wider legged ones seem harder to pull off because of the leg-shortening effect, whereas the more tapered ones seem hard to fit so that the proportions work.

Everyone looks FAB in these posts. But the search for BF jeans is a challenging one. I tried the GAP ones today, and it seemed like (a) I was in between sizes and (b) the whiskering was OTT.

please excuse the messy hair and not styled outfit, just threw these on over my swimsuit/sun shirt this am as we are getting ready to hit the pool. record heat forecast here today!

these are several years old calvin klein BF jeans, sized up. 70% of my jeans are a 4 (27) and these are an 8 (29).

3 - A super-low rise pair of actual men's DSquared jeans I had hoped to get away with.

I carry a lot of weight in the thighs and backside, and my front rise is short, so I unfortunately can't do the more voluminous ones like Unas.

Una, I love yours on you and I think they are cuffed at a great spot! Everyone else looks fab in theirs too! Is it possible that people are flocking to this look because we are all a teeny bit tired of the skinnies, skinnies, skinnies thing all the time? It's so nice to have some variety, I think. Not that I am retiring my skinnies, just that variety is fab!

Una, you look cool and effortlessly casual in those BF jeans. I like this ankle length.

I haven't worn mine this year yet. Mine are the baggier variety. Do they still look OK to wear? The backside is not flattering as it is baggy and doesn't add any curves to my already curveless figure, but they are fun.

All you ladies are sporting your BF jeans in fab ways and according to what most suits your body type. I wore mine today and am including a pic. Mine are Calvin Klein and yes they are baggy in the crotch.

Hey ladies, sorry I posted and then left for our cabin where I can only check in by phone! I am dying to see all the pictures and I can see how boyfriend style really depends on body type... I like mine RATE and slouchy but I'm now intrigued by the skinnier versions. Are they like sized up skinnies? Or a whole different breed?
