How do you store it, and how often do you refresh the supply?

Every so often, bf's building turns off the water for 4-6 hours, usually with a week's warning. In my neighborhood, the power has gone out for long hours. No big deal, just enough that I've noticed I could be better prepared for a storm or other unplanned event.
