Hopefully you can open this.

I read this with great interest and will use it as a guideline when I go through my denim collection in the Spring. It's kind of sitting in limbo for now as I don't wear much of it during the depths of winter but I like to assess it ahead of every season. I've been thinking about how some of our forum members prefer a trendy denim/more traditional top combo and others prefer the opposite. I'm not quite sure where I stand, but this article did make me realize I do have too many pair - duplicates of styles and cuts with not enough shade difference to warrant keeping.

I'm not going to count right now, but I estimate my collection at around 15 pair. Maybe 18.

I like the idea of a select collection of key cuts that have longevity (yes, my same mantra) and fewer trendier pair. I jumped on the barrel bandwagon with both feet and have quite a few in heavy olive cotton , blue, white and black denim and I'm already leery of the style. It's comfy and fun and easy to wear, but I don't see it as something I want to fall back on year after year. I don't feel they are flattering at all and t which isn't always the goal when dressing, but it's a barometer I still use for myself . I prefer a more elegant/refined silhouette on most days .I wore a pair in black denim to work today and will continue to do so, but I won't be adding more to the collection . I suppose that puts me in the less-trendy bottom/more fun top category?

What about you all? How many pair of jeans do you own and do they cover the bases? Is that important to you?
